It's been a while since I've made a journal post on DA.  Some of that's because I'm busy, but a lot of it's because I put my thoughts into my LJ and occasionally on FA.

Within a month of my last post, I lost my job with JLL.  They were... not happy with my performance and refused me the help that I needed (and requested) in order to improve to their liking.  Since that time, I've been on unemployment and on the job hunt.  I've had a refueled desire to find a job in my field and put my degree to work.

I jumped back into school in pursuit of a teaching certification, though I've been questioning whether or not I want to continue this pursuit.  I have doubts and frustrations regarding the program, the teaching staff, and the advisors, and while I sit idle during the summer (because of issues with CCAC), I have plenty of time to reflect on things and wonder if this is what I really want.

One good thing that's come of my considerations last July is that I am the Desktop Publisher for Anthrocon now, and they'll have to pry the position from my cold, dead hands.  It makes me extremely happy to be able to put my degree to use, and even more happy to be able to give back to a fandom that I love.  I'm also hoping that the pieces I've completed for AC will help me to find a Graphic Design job in the near future (preferably before the end of the summer).

I'm a 25 year old graduate of Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. An Alumna of the Chi Gamma chapter of Chi Omega, I graduated with my BFA in graphic design and am currently on the hunt for a job while doing design work for Anthrocon. I love to game, both in the form of World of Warcraft and in tabletop format through D&D and WoD.

I can certainly give it my best shot. Where do you want to start?

Ah. The best advice that I can provide is to take a look at some of the stock photos on DA and use the poses as references. They can help you learn how to lay out the framework of the body without having to actually sit through a semester of Life Drawing. Even the best artists often reference their poses, either from real life or from stock photography.

>3> So,I have a question! A little birdy told me you might have played on the Sentinels Server on WoW once upon a time. If this is true would you like an invite to the Sentinels Artists DA group?
